Initially working as an assistant professor at Munich University, Michael Jung has been with McKinsey&Company from 1979-2009. He held a variety of positions, among them Office Manager and Practice Leader, served on Firm committees, and led several large-scale Firm projects.
With a focus on strategy and leadership issues, he advised clients in the private and public sector on fundamental change programs; among these, he was responsible for the multi-year transformative reform of the German labor market organization (the “Hartz“ program, 2002-2009).
After retiring from McKinsey, he pursues his interest in the realm of industrial and societal governance and development, sometimes as an advisor to politics, and oversees various entrepreneurial commitments.
He read law, philosophy, business administration and economics in Munich and Stanford, and holds a PhD in Economics.
