Former Secretary General, European Trade Union Confederation
Bernadette Ségol was Secretary General of the European Trade Union Confederation from May 2011 to October 2015. The ETUC represents 90 trade union confederations in 39 European countries as well as 10 European trade union federations.
Over a period of 10 years, from 2000 to 2010, she was the head of UNI Europa, the European trade union federation for services and communication which represents 7 million workers and 330 affiliated trade unions.
All her professional career was devoted to defend working people rights to live in a fair and sustainable society.
Born in Luzech in France, she has a Master’s degree in philosophy and has four children.
